He's a sports performance coach, a personal trainer and a strength coach. James Shapiro works with a wide range of clients, all with different goals from training Division I athletes, to up and coming junior players to stay-at-home moms, seniors, high-school athletes, CEOs and everyone in between! Located in South Central Los Angeles, the Pete Brown Junior Tennis program is dedicated to enriching the lives of children by providing free tennis, mentoring and education in a safe and positive environment. Marty Woods founded this program in 2009 in memory of his coach and mentor, Pete Brown. 2022 has been their best year yet! After receiving 1 of 3 grants from the Naomi Osaka Play Academy and had several players show loads of success and growth on and off the court, this year is surely one to celebrate. The program promotes junior tennis as a platform for character development, physical fitness and lifetime achievement with a focus on the importance of character, integrity and sportsmanship -- all ideals that were critically important to Mr. Pete Brown and his family and all pillars that continue to thrive with the help of an awesome, passionate team led by Anne and Marty!
Marty & Anne join me to share all their successes from 2022 and what to look forward to in the new year! They talk about new traditions they've started, players who are succeeding in college and the junior players making waves in National and International tournaments!
These episodes are always my personal favorites and I just hope you love hearing about the amazing work being down on these courts and feel inspired and encouraged to find a way to give back to the sport we all love.

Brian Teacher is a former top American pro player who reached a career high ranking of number 7, won the Australian Open in 1980, was a 4-time All American at UCLA, has been named to many Hall of Fames including the ITA, NCAA and has many more accolades under his belt. After his pro career, he found himself coaching WTA and ATP players and he has coached several top players you might have heard of including Greg Rusedski, Max Myrni, Andre Agassi and many more. Today, he has a Tennis Academy in Southern California and has develop a groundbreaking new tennis instructional app and platform which just might revolutionize the way tennis players learn called the Full Court Tennis App!

It's hard not to smile while chatting with WTA Pro, Sabrina Santamaria! She may be just 5'2 in stature, but she has a huge heart and exudes good vibes while telling her story of growing up on public courts in Los Angeles to playing for USC to an injury that sidelined her but in a twist of fate was what allowed her to meet her now husband. Taking an unconventional path, it is clear Sabrina has always had a good head on her shoulders and is passionate about the sport. And seeing her career as a business, she chose to focus her time and energy in doubles and has seen great success and has had an amazing 2022 on the WTA Tour!
